GTA 6 has two playable protagonists: Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos, a criminal couple who have to lean on each other after an easy score goes wrong. Rockstar has also officially introduced six supporting characters (eight people, since Real Dimez is a duo): Cal Hampton, Boobie Ike, Dre'Quan Priest, Real Dimez, Raul Bautista and Brian Heder.
Everything below comes from Rockstar's official character profiles and the trailers. No story details beyond what the marketing has shown, and no leaks.

Jason Duval
Jason grew up around crime and spent time in the Army. When we meet him he's living in the Leonida Keys, doing work for local dealers in exchange for a place Brian Heder lends him. Rockstar frames him as a man stuck between that life and a way out, and Lucia looks like that way out.
Lucia Caminos
Lucia is a trained fighter who has just been released from prison. Her official bio says she's set on building a better life and sees a future with Jason as a way to get there. The trailers show her both in quiet couple moments and in the middle of robberies.
Playing as both protagonists
According to Red Bull Gaming's write-up of the 26-minute Extended Look (August 27, 2026):
- You can switch between Jason and Lucia at any time.
- Their relationship shapes the story and the ending, and it can play out as romantic or platonic.
- Each character's physique changes with diet, exercise and sleep.
The supporting cast
- Cal Hampton is Jason's conspiracy-minded friend who'd rather stay home and monitor Coast Guard radio.
- Boobie Ike and Dre'Quan Priest co-run Only Raw Records: Boobie brings money and Vice City connections, Dre'Quan the musical ambition.
- Real Dimez are the label's signed act, and their arc revolves around social media.
- Raul Bautista is the heist specialist always looking for talent for the next job.
- Brian Heder is the veteran Keys smuggler who gives Jason a roof and work.
